In our lives whenever we strive in faithfulness and obedience to God to be good, the devil is there to deceive and destroy.
This particular answer was based on understanding critical information at the time, known by the person who used the term. This person understood the unfolding crisis. The term ‘NUTS’ here has a colloquial meaning of ‘crazy’, that is, the person was answering a crazy demand. Let us study the history.
In November, 1944 there was the German operation Autumn Fog ordered by Hitler and worked out by German Field Marshals Walter Model and Gerd von Rundstedt, and General Hans Krebs [1]. Thus, in December 1944 the allies were overwhelmed by German forces who came through the Ardennes Forest encircling the Americans at Bastogne, the crisis becoming known as the ‘Battle of the Bulge”. The American Command at Bastogne knew the Germans were not taking prisoners – executing them in the forests! The Americans were outnumbered, low on food, ammunition and medical supplies and there was a crisis!
On 22 December, the American Commander, Brigadier General Anthony McAuliffe, was sent an ultimatum for ‘an honourable surrender’. He knew the total lies and evil reality and intentions of a totally ruthless and evil enemy. His reply to this crazy, lying request was: “To the German Commander: N U T S!, The American Commander.”
When all seemed lost, the skies cleared, the American Airforce with allies, and the Army overcome all German forces. Almighty God honoured faithful prayers – especially the prayers of Christian General George S. Paton whose Chaplain was asked to write a prayer for fine weather. General Paton’s Chaplain of the 3rd Army, Chaplain James O’Neil, wrote the Prayer:
Almighty and most merciful Father, we humbly beseech
Thee, of Thy great goodness, to restrain these immoderate rains with which we have had to contend. Grant us fair weather for Battle. Graciously hearken to us as soldiers who call upon Thee that armed with Thy power, we may advance from victory to victory, and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies, and establish Thy justice among men and nations. Amen
Chaplain James was decorated with the Bronze Star and Legion of Merit. Bastogne was saved and by mid-January 1945 the Allies were well on their way to Berlin to destroy an evil leader and people.
Our forefathers were truly faithful to Almighty God in overcoming total evil of their time. What about us? This is not another world war yet– but it is worse, for all aspects of society are turning evil, controlled by the UN, in this New World Evil Order. Again, the dreadful truth of this evil crisis in the Article[2]“In this Day and at this Ose
Hour.” “It is beyond question that the integrity of the United Kingdom and the great company of covenant nations in all their aspects have been undermined during the past seven decades. What has happened by neglect and deliberate action is unacceptable and the voice of the People must now be heard. In the Western World we are a people in crisis, desperately looking for positive guidance and leadership that will remove us from the deepening quagmire of destruction in a spiritual vacuum.” Those in leadership and the people are becoming ‘worthless’As it is written:
Romans 3.10-12
“There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”
For centuries, under the ministry and mission of Britain (Ephraim), the Covenant Nations were faithful to Almighty God and listening – but now they are not faithful, obedient or listening to Holy Scripture. Holy Scripture teaches how it was then – what about “in this day and hour” and NOT YET [3]:
History has a habit of repeating itself. Almighty God, in His love for us also repeats Himself hoping we will WAKE UP AND LISTEN! His patience ran out with His people 2,500 years ago – will His patience run out with His Covenant Nations?
Almighty God gives a warning:
Jeremiah 5.11-15
“The house of Israel and the house of Judah have been utterly unfaithful to me,” declares the Lord. They have lied about the Lord: they said, “He will do nothing! No harm will come to us, we will never see sword or famine…” Therefore this is what the Lord God Almighty says, “Because the people have spoken these words, I will make my words in your mouth a fire and these people the wood it consumes. O house of Israel,” declares the Lord , “I am bringing a distant nation against you…”
Jeremiah 5.18, 21, 23, 30-31
“Yet even in those days,” declares the Lord, “I will not destroy you completely.” “Hear this, you foolish and senseless people, who have eyes but do not see, who have ears but do not hear…” “But these people have stubborn and rebellious hearts; they have turned aside and gone away.” “A horrible and shocking thing has happened in the land: The prophets prophesy lies, the Priest’s rule by their own authority, and my people love it this way. But what will you do in the end?”
This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says:
Jeremiah 7.3-24
“Reform your ways and your actions, and I will let you live in this place. Do not trust in deceptive words and say this is the temple of the Lord…” “If you really change your ways and your actions and deal with each other justly …and if you do not follow other gods to your own harm, then I will let you live in this place, in the land I gave your forefathers for ever and ever. But look, you are trusting in deceptive words that are worthless…” and say, ‘We are safe’, safe to do all these detestable things? “But I have been watching”! declares the Lord, “While you were doing all these things”, declares the Lord, “I spoke to you again and again, but you did not listen; I called you, but you did not answer…” “…I will thrust you from my presence, just as I did all your brothers, the people of Ephraim.” …Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “My anger and my wrath will be poured out on this place…” I gave them this command, “Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people. Walk in all the ways I command you, that it may go well with you. But they did not listen or pay attention; instead, they followed the stubborn inclinations of their evil hearts. They went backward and not forward.”
Also:
Jeremiah 16.12
“But you have behaved more wickedly than your fathers. See how each of you is following the stubbornness of his evil heart instead of obeying me.”
The disastrous crisis in ungodly, disobedient and weak leadership and “the deepening quagmire of destruction in a spiritual vacuum” [4] is compounded in the article [5] “The Force in our Midst Defying Almighty God…”
“Millions of Christian-thinking and common-sense patriotic people today are being hounded out of their peaceable living by a ‘woke’ culture that is undermining the very foundations of society in the covenant nations…” This evil ‘woke culture’ is sending Covenant Nations economically and spiritually broke!. The article continues: “When the writer wrote on a similar subject thirty-three years ago in 1988 things were bad enough then. Now, in 2021, we see conditions where a demonically-inspired force, almost visible in our midst, is creating chaos and confusion in society. Have these conditions happened before? Yes indeed – in the days of Noah prior to the Flood in which Almighty God destroyed a generation that was so evil it threatened the order of human creation itself. It was essential that the status quo be restored by the Creator. And further, yes indeed, as seen in the truth of Almighty God’s warning to Jeremiah above. History has repeated itself, seen when remembering the totalitarian evil Nazi regime causing the destruction of Germany in WWII.
Almighty God honoured faithful Britain (Ephraim) and allied Covenant Nations especially America (Manasseh) and gave victory. The devil hates his own and takes them all to eternal destruction. We need to look to Jesus and Almighty God always:
Revelation 19.10-17
“…Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. …out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. The Kings of this evil earth,…He will rule them with an iron sceptre. …on his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS and I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in mid-air, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, …”
All authority has been given to Jesus. He has triumphed, conquered – in Greek this is aorist tense meaning it has happened eternally but historically “NOT YET”[6]. Jesus is the beginning and the end.
In this crisis documented in the articles above, Holy Scripture gives the answer that our forefathers obeyed:
Proverbs 3.5-7
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.”
In the crisis of 1944 – the answer was: NUTS. For the crisis facing Covenant Nations today, the answer is: JESUS, King of Kings and Lord of Lords – will we as Covenant Nations listen to Him as for centuries we have been blessed by Almighty God as faithful Christian civilisations with Christian heritages and ways of life.
