EVIL DURING THE MONARCHY

Evil During the Monarchy

in Northern Kingdom of Israel

and Southern Kingdom of Judah

I have read through the Books of 1 Kings and 2 Kings examining the truth of the history of all Kings but focusing and listing 21 totally evil Kings. I have listed them with I – Israel, J – Judah for the years beginning 930-597BC:

          Jeroboam I                   930   I

          Abijah                           913   I

Nabab                           909   I

Baasha                          908   I

Omri                              880   I

Ahab                              874   I

Ahaziah                         853   I

Jehoram                        848   J

Jehoahaz                       814   I

Jeroboam II                  782   I

Menahem                     752   I

Pekahiah                       742   I

Pekan                            740   I

Ahaz                               735   J

          Jehoiakim                     609   J

Jehoiachin                     598   J

          Zedekiah                       597   J

At the beginning of this Book I referred to Genesis 1. I also referred to the true fact that the LORD God – the Holy Trinity Father, Son and Holy Spirit is in unity the only true God (remember Isaiah 45:1-5).

It is encouraging to remember the Trinity is all knowing and all powerful, and that the end of our history has been revealed.  This is part of the subject of this Book.

How important is it to read Holy Scripture?

Psalm 139

1 O Lord, you have searched me and you know me.

2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.

3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.

4 Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord.

5 You hem me in-behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.

7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?

8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,

10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,”

12 even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.

13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well.

15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!

18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you.

19 If only you would slay the wicked, O God! Away from me, you bloodthirsty men!

20 They speak of you with evil intent; your adversaries misuse your name.

21 Do I not hate those who hate you, O Lord, and abhor those who rise up against you?

22 I have nothing but hatred for them; I count them my enemies.

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.

24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Jeremiah 10:1-12

1 0’hear what the Lord says to you, O’house of Israel.

2 This is what the Lord says: “Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the sky, though the nations are terrified by them.

3 For the customs of the peoples are worthless; they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel.

4 They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so it will not totter.

5 Like a scarecrow in a melon patch, their idols cannot speak; they must be carried because they cannot walk. Do not fear them; they can do no harm nor can they do any good.”

6 No one is like you, O Lord; you are great, and your name is mighty in power.

7 Who should not revere you, O King of the nations? This is your due. Among all the wise men of the nations and in all

their kingdoms, there is no one like you.

8 They are all senseless and foolish; they are taught by worthless wooden idols.

9 Hammered silver is brought from Tarshish and gold from Uphaz. What the craftsman and goldsmith have made is then dressed in blue and purple – all made by skilled workers.

10 But the Lord is the true God; he is the living God, the eternal King. When he is angry, the earth trembles; the nations cannot endure his wrath.

11 “Tell them this: ‘These gods, who did not make the heavens and the earth, will perish from the earth and from under the heavens.’ “

12 But God made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.

Romans 1:16-20

16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.

17 For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”

18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness,

19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.

20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

In Daniel Chapter 2 we see the reality of the LORD’s awesome knowledge and power when Daniel interprets Nebuchadnezzar’s dream.

Daniel 2:19-45

19 During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven

20 and said: “Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his.

21 He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.

22 He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.

23 I thank and praise you, O God of my fathers: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king.”

24 Then Daniel went to Arioch, whom the king had appointed to execute the wise men of Babylon, and said to him, “Do not execute the wise men of Babylon. Take me to the king, and I will interpret his dream for him.”

25 Arioch took Daniel to the king at once and said, “I have found a man among the exiles from Judah who can tell the king what his dream means.”

26 The king asked Daniel (also called Belteshazzar), “Are you able to tell me what I saw in my dream and interpret it?”

27 Daniel replied, “No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about,

28 but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. He has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in days to come. Your dream and the visions that passed through your mind as you lay on your bed are these:

29 “As you were lying there, O king, your mind turned to things to come, and the revealer of mysteries showed you what is going to happen.

30 As for me, this mystery has been revealed to me, not because I have greater wisdom than other living men, but so that you, O king, may know the interpretation and that you may understand what went through your mind.

31 “You looked, O king, and there before you stood a large statue-an enormous, dazzling statue, awesome in appearance.

32 The head of the statue was made of pure gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze,

33 its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of baked clay.

34 While you were watching, a rock was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and smashed them.

35 Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were broken to pieces at the same time and became like chaff on a threshing floor in the summer.

The wind swept them away without leaving a trace. But the rock that struck the statue became a huge mountain and filled the whole earth.

36 “This was the dream, and now we will interpret it to the king.

37 You, O king, are the king of kings. The God of heaven has given you dominion and power and might and glory;

38 in your hands he has placed mankind and the beasts of the field and the birds of the air. Wherever they live, he has made you ruler over them all. You are that head of gold.

39 “After you, another kingdom will rise, inferior to yours. Next, a third kingdom, one of bronze, will rule over the whole earth.

40 Finally, there will be a fourth kingdom, strong as iron-for iron breaks and smashes everything-and as iron breaks things to pieces, so it will crush and break all the others.

41 Just as you saw that the feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom; yet it will have some of the strength of iron in it, even as you saw iron mixed with clay.

42 As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle.

43 And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay.

44 “In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.

45 This is the meaning of the vision of the rock cut out of a mountain, but not by human hands-a rock that broke the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold to pieces. “The great God has shown the king what will take place in the future. The dream is true and the interpretation is trustworthy.”

I have included the whole of the above Scripture simply because man does not believe in the knowledge and power of the LORD! Many people today still do not believe! When we compare this vision with the eternal reality of the truths in Daniel Chapters 7 and 8, the eternal reality is mind blowing!

The key word in Daniel is ‘mystery’, but it is not a mystery – it is true reality!  It is the LORD revealing the truth – the light through His Son Jesus – the Light of the world (John 8:12). In Daniel 2:22, the truth of Psalm 36:9ff is real and eternal.

Psalm 36:9-12

9 For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

10 Continue your love to those who know you, your righteousness to the upright in heart.

11 May the foot of the proud not come against me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.

12 See how the evildoers lie fallen, thrown down, not able to rise!

Notice in the above Scripture the sad state of our human self-importance, in relation again to Daniel 2:19-45:

v31   Notice “enormous, dazzling”

v32   Head          Pure Gold

                    Chest          Silver

                    Arms           Silver

                    Belly           Bronze

                    Thighs        Bronze

v33   Legs            Iron

                    Feet            Partly Iron, partly clay

In the above Scripture the Gold head stood for the Babylonian empire which fell in 539BC. Power moved to Cyrus of the Medo-Persian empire represented by the Silver chest and arms. The Bronze belly and thighs is Greece established by Alexander the Great in 330BC. The legs and feet are the Roman empire who conquered in 63BC.

As I mentioned earlier, the power-hungry Kings of Israel and Judah and rulers of each of these empires had power which did not last – power simply for each of their lifetimes. Power temporal and temporary.

For the purpose of this book and the technology now available and described later notice v35 above, “…were broken to pieces at the same time” i.e. quickly or instantly “… and became like chaff on a threshing floor in the summer. The wind swept them away without leaving a trace.” Also remember (v31) the statue was “large …enormous”. Indeed, Daniel 3:1 says “ninety feet high” (27 metres) …“and nine feet wide” (2.7 metres). And as with Nebuchadnezzar’s power and vanity:

Daniel 3:2-6

2 He then summoned the satraps, prefects, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates and all the other

provincial officials to come to the dedication of the image he had set up.

3 So the satraps, prefects, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates and all the other provincial officials assembled for the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up, and they stood before it.

4 Then the herald loudly proclaimed, “This is what you are commanded to do, O peoples, nations and men of every language:

5 As soon as you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the image of gold that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up.

6 Whoever does not fall down and worship will immediately be thrown into a blazing furnace.”

The King’s power and vanity again controlled him and he threatened the LORD’s people:

Daniel 3:16-18

16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter.

17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king.

18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

The LORD’s servants were thrown into the furnace and behold:

Daniel 3:24-30

24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, “Weren’t there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?” They replied, “Certainly, O king.”

25 He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”

26 Nebuchadnezzar then approached the opening of the blazing furnace and shouted, “Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!” So, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire,

27 and the satraps, prefects, governors and royal advisers crowded around them. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them.

28 Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants!

They trusted in him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.

29 Therefore I decree that the people of any nation or language who say anything against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego be cut into pieces and their houses be turned into piles of rubble, for no other god can save in this way.”

30 Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the province of Babylon.

From the above (v25) I believe “a son…” is actually Jesus, the Eternal Son of God, the Lord and Savior of all the elect who trust Him. Those of the Old Covenant (Romans 3:25) and New Covenant (Hebrews 9:12, 26).

We now move to the amazing Visions in Daniel 7 & 8, which are relevant to technology today as we will see later.

We have examined the lifetimes of Kings, the elite and people and how, as today, many persisted in being disobedient to the LORD’s commands – His precepts.  I remember this truth from Ezekiel 34 which applies then and now to unfaithful, uncaring kings, rulers, elite, politicians, businessmen and Church leaders who had everything in their lifetimes but what about eternity?

Ezekiel 34:1-12

1 The word of the LORD came to me

2 “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who only take care of themselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock?

3 You eat the curds, clothe yourselves with the wool and slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the flock.

4 You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally.

5 So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and when they were scattered, they became food for all the wild animals.

6 My sheep wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. They were scattered over the whole earth, and no one searched or looked for them.

7 ” ‘Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the LORD:

8 As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, because my flock lacks a shepherd and so has been plundered and has become food for all the wild animals, and because my shepherds did not search for my flock but cared for themselves rather than for my flock,

9 therefore, O shepherds, hear the word of the LORD:

10 This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against the shepherds and will hold them accountable for my flock. I will remove them from tending the flock so that the shepherds can no longer feed themselves. I will rescue my flock from their mouths, and it will no longer be food for them.

11 ” ‘For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them.

12 As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness.

Evil men – savage kings “scattered” the sheep? Are “the clouds and darkness” representing exactly what this study in new evil electronic silent warfare technology is all about?

My focus now is on Daniel Chapters 7 & 8. You will remember my comments on the vision in Daniel 2 earlier.  Now I will examine the truth of Daniel 7 & 8 and in relation to the Book of Revelation.

Daniel lived c605-530BC, with his writings of the visions c550-530BC, which is amazing when compared to John’s vision of Revelation (c95AD or earlier).

Context in the comparisons is very important and as a result, sections of Scripture will be repeated for emphasis.  I begin with the vision in Daniel 7 relating to Revelation.

Daniel 7:1-14

1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel had a dream, and visions passed through his mind as he was lying on his bed. He wrote down the substance of his dream.

2 Daniel said: “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me were the four winds of heaven churning up the great sea.

3 Four great beasts, each different from the others, came up out of the sea.

4 “The first was like a lion, and it had the wings of an eagle. I watched until its wings were torn off and it was lifted from the ground so that it stood on two feet like a man, and the heart of a man was given to it.

5 “And there before me was a second beast, which looked like a bear. It was raised up on one of its sides, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. It was told, ‘Get up and eat your fill of flesh!’

6 “After that, I looked, and there before me was another beast, one that looked like a leopard. And on its back it had four wings like those of a bird. This beast had four heads, and it was given authority to rule.

7 “After that, in my vision at night I looked, and there before me was a fourth beast terrifying and frightening and very powerful. It had large iron teeth; it crushed and devoured its victims and trampled underfoot whatever was left. It was different from all the former beasts, and it had ten horns.

8 “While I was thinking about the horns, there before me was another horn, a little one, which came up among them; and three of the first horns were uprooted before it. This horn had eyes like the eyes of a man and a mouth that spoke boastfully.

9 “As I looked, “thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat.

His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze.

10 A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousands upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was seated, and the books were opened.

11 “Then I continued to watch because of the boastful words the horn was speaking. I kept looking until the beast was slain and its body destroyed and thrown into the blazing fire.

12 (The other beasts had been stripped of their authority, but were allowed to live for a period of time.)

13 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence.

14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

In many nations, then and now, beasts were symbols on crests, statues and flags:

7:4 First beast              Lion                           Babylonian Empire

7:5 Second beast         Bear                     Medo-Persian Empire

7:6 Third beast             Leopard                         Greek Empire

7:7 Fourth beast           Terrifying/Roman Empire – Frightening

Notice the fourth beast had 10 horns. The number 10 symbolises – complete – complete authority. The little horn (v8) is anti-God. The elite involved in world power are anti-God and enjoy evil only for their respective lifetimes. I remember this wonderful truth:

Luke 16:19-31

19 “There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day.

20 At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores

21 and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

22 “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried.

23 In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side.

24 So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’

25 “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony.

26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’

27 “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father’s house,

28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’

29 “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’

30 ” ‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’

31 “He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ “

This is what this book is about – the fact that especially today the elite will increase in the evils of power and greed and will help the devil by the use of new electronic silent warfare technology against land, buildings and people. They have global control through their puppet United Nations (UN).

Continuing Daniel 7 we now begin to see the divine relationships of Daniel’s visions and John’s vision in Revelation.  With the Daniel 7 reference printed earlier, compare with Revelation 1 below:

  • Daniel 7:9 cf Revelation 1:14
  • Daniel 7:13 Revelation 1:17, 13
